Calm on the water, catch in hand – experience magical fishing days in Alta

We set off for Finnmark’s largest lake, Iesjavri, on a beautiful winter’s day. The day started with dense fog wrapping the landscape in a mysterious veil. The view was obscured, and we didn’t quite know what awaited us. But as the sun slowly rose above the horizon, the fog began to lift, and suddenly a truly amazing day revealed itself. The sun broke through, and the clear, blue sky stood in stark contrast to the white, snowy landscape around us. It was one of those rare, windless winter days in Finnmark – a gift from nature. We found our spot by the lake, and set up our gear for a quiet day of char fishing. Time felt like it stood still; we sat there, surrounded by the magnificent, snowy scenery, fishing in the mirror-like water and grilling in the sunshine. It was almost as if the world around us disappeared, and we were alone with nature in its purest form. The unique silence of Finnmark, combined with the perfect fishing, made this a day we will never forget. We caught some nice char, and with a smile on our face and gratitude in our hearts we packed up our gear and began the trek down the mountain. We knew that days like this are rare, but when they happen, they remind us of what is possible in the wonderful, wild nature of Finnmark. We went home from Iesjavri very satisfied, with memories of a perfect day in one of the world's most impressive landscapes.
